Daniele Spiga, PhD in Experimental Physics at Universitá degli studi di Perugia, is First Technologist at Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), Perugia Unit.

After more than 10 years of international experience gained working at CERN, European Organization for Nuclear Research Daniele is highly focused on scientific computing with a comprehensive understanding of complex distributed computing systems, heterogeneous resources integration, such as HPC and HTC, and automation of complex computational platforms for scientific data processing. Daniele has extensive expertise in managing software and computing projects, spanning the full range from design phase up to support for end users.

Daniele is the Coordinator of Software and Computing for CMS-Italy, supervising the budget, operations, developments of the Tier-1 and 4 Tier-2 sites.

He is currently co-coordinating the Dynamic Resource Provisioning group of CMS experiment responsible also for the Operation of the High Level Trigger farm for offline use and for the integration of world-class High Performance Computing centers.

At national level Daniele is co-coordinating the working group responsible to create pilots for the integration of the heterogeneous resources taking care of implementing the Datalake infrastructure of the Italian Research Center on High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing (ICSC) center.

Has been national coordinator of the Pollution Lake ANalysis for Effective Therapy (PLANET) project, funded by INFN CSN5 (2021-2022).

Since 2016 Daniele has been involved in several EU Funded projects (EOSC-Pilot, INDIGO-Datacloud, EOSC-hub, ESCAPE, EGI-ACE) with different roles and responsibilities. Daniele has been HL-LHC representative in the ESCAPE Technical Board (2020-2023) and currently he is the National representative for the interTwin EU Project.

Daniele is author and co-author of more than 800 papers in the last 10 years.
